WRSA: A Ripon sailing club

White Rose Sailing Association (WRSA) is a small and friendly Ripon sailing club in North Yorkshire.

Here you can participate in different water sports (Sailing on the lake; SUPs on the lake [at certain times] and river; Kayaking and Canoeing on the river) whilst, most importantly, relaxing and appreciating the peace and quiet of our club.

We sail on Givendale Lake. 

Givendale Lake covers an area of 11 hectares (28 acres) and has a wide slipway with two jetties from which to launch your boat.

In contrast, our dedicated half-mile stretch of the River Ure provides pleasant paddle boarding, canoeing/kayaking through attractive open countryside undisturbed by other river traffic.

Access to this water is also by a slipway and a jetty.

Why Join WRSA?

As a member you will be able to enjoy, for instance, a number of water sports and other activities in attractive Yorkshire countryside:

* Sail your dinghy on Givendale Lake.

First of all, we have an active racing programme and you are very welcome to join in or, on the other hand, simply cruise on the lake 7 days a week.

* Launch your Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) onto the River Ure or onto Givendale Lake (at certain times) using our slipway and jetties.

Then enjoy a paddle on the river and the lake.

* Launch your kayak or your canoe onto the River Ure using our slipway and jetties.

Then enjoy a paddle on the river. After that, you can store your kayak or canoe in our boat park.

* Walk around Givendale Lake and enjoy the lovely countryside.

We are based at Givendale, part of the Newby Hall estate close to Ripon.

* Use our facilities.

At WRSA, a Ripon sailing club, you can sail on the lake and, access the boat park, club house, BBQ and changing rooms 7 days a week.

* Low cost membership.

* Membership is currently available to all levels of experience.
